A look back on our 2023 season
Posted on 09 Nov 2023 in News
As October has drawn to a close, the nights are getting darker, the Park is much quieter and we start to think about get settled in for the winter, although not too settled, as we have lots of preparation going on for the 2024 season.
The 31st October marks the end of the York Meadows camping & touring season for another year and what a season we’ve had, lots of new and returning guests making memories together, our seasonal customers have had a great summer season, and we have seen new customers enjoying their static holiday homes this year!
This season saw the addition of some fantastic new superpitches on the Park, our new ‘luxury’ all-service pitches which offer additional space and consist of a hard standing area with a grass patio. The pitches are supplied with connections for electricity, fresh water supply and waste water disposal. If you are looking for a seasonal pitch then don’t miss the chance, give us a call to discuss options.
We also spent time during the summer planning and planting our new young orchard and the apple, plum and pear trees are coming on nicely. We are looking forward to making the most of the fruit pies, crumbles and bakes next season. If you haven’t seen it then we would highly recommend taking a moment to sit on the new pergola to enjoy the view. And we can’t talk about planting without giving a mention to the fabulous planters and wild flower displays we have around the Park which were full of colour and summer vibes thanks to the hard work and dedication of the team.
March saw the upgrading of all of the signage around the Park, with new signs leading in to York Meadows, a new information point, and clearer directional signage around the Park, which hopefully means that it is now much easier to get around, follow the walks and find the facilities. We also had the addition of a defibrillator, which is on the wall of the shower block – and we hope will never be required.
Catch 22 Fish & Chips joined us on Saturday evenings during the season to give our guests something a little different, and they even brought their doggie ice creams which went down a storm with out four-legged guests.
We had Coronation Celebrations, snakes and ladders games, football tournaments, BBQ’s galore, long dog walks, village markets, stunning sunsets (and sunrises), a new nature trail, and a shiny Visit England 5 star award alongside our new AA 4 Gold Pennant. What more could you possible want from your summer?
A warm thank you to all our guests, returning and new for a fabulous season and we look forward to welcoming you back in 2024!
